Don’t Miss Out On Thunder on Cocoa Beach!
The race returns for its 11th year on the Florida Space Coast! Enjoy four days and nights of parties, concerts, and of course the Space Coast Super Boat Grand Prix. The family-friendly event gives you a chance to watch the top race teams from around the world compete. There are several classes for competition, with the premier class reaching speeds of over 175 miles per hour! This year’s event takes place May 18-21 and more information including tickets and a schedule is available on the event website.
Spring Training
For those who view baseball as more than America’s favorite pastime, Florida is the place to be each spring. Many of its towns host MLB teams for annual spring training, including Cocoa Beach. Starting at the end of February and through the end of March, the Washington Nationals take over their spring training site of The Ballpark of the Palms Beaches to warm up for the season to come.
Beach’N Boards Fest
Since 2013, the fest has been a part of Spring Break. Watch competitors catch waves at Shepard Park in Cocoa Beach. Enjoy food from favorite food trucks like Kona Ice, along with many other local restaurants. When you’re not watching the surfers, there’s beach volleyball, a 5K run/walk, yoga, and more. Melbourne Art Festival
Head to Wickham Park in nearby Melbourne. The award-winning festival, now in its 38th year, draws tens of thousands of art and music lovers throughout Central Florida, as well as visitors from further afield. The family-friendly event promotes and encourages all artistic endeavors, education, and appreciation of the arts. Visit over 200 booths, and enjoy live music, food, drinks, and special activities for the kids. The festival is free: free admission, parking, children’s activities, and live entertainment. Stop by April 22-23 starting at 9 a.m. each day.
Downtown Melbourne Botanical Festival
See just what can be done with your favorite plants, flowers, trees, and shrubs. The festival attracts visitors from all over and is family-friendly. See lavish landscape designs, garden sculptures, and garden-themed art, and indulge in delicious food and drink. The event takes place at the 1900 Building on March 4. Hours are 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Cocoa Beach Air Show
There’s no more fitting place to hold an air show than a region called The Space Coast. The Cocoa Beach Air Show is flying back to the Space Coast for another year of high-flying thrills! Flights take place in the air over Lori Wilson Park April 15-16 and feature the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds. More information, including tickets, pricing, and the full line up will be available on the event website as it is released.
