As the skies turn gray and steely and the temperatures drop to cold and uncomfortable in your midwestern hometown you may find yourself seeking a Halloween adventure that is filled with sunshine, mild temperatures, and the crashing of waves against sandy shores. Fall is here and the season doesn’t always bring the most welcoming of weather in your area, but in Cocoa Beach? It is the most wonderful time of the year, with the entire month of October being the absolute best time to visit. The crowds shrink, the lines in restaurant shorten, and the opportunities to engage in traditional Halloween activities is brightened by the sun shining down on all who come to visit, perhaps shining a little brighter when you choose Stay in Cocoa Beach for your holiday hideaway! This guide to spending Halloween in Cocoa Beach will ensure that every minute of your stay will be filled with Halloween frights and creature comforts!

Space Coast State Fair, October 27-November 12, 5775 Melbourne Parkway in Melbourne

While a fair may not seem to be a traditional Halloween activity, this one offers several holiday shows and activities with its Halloween Spooktacular! Watch the amazing antics of the Anastasini Family Circus Halloween Zombie Shows, presented at varying times throughout the fair, and be amazed at the “death-defying” motorcycle talents shown in the Urias Family Circus Globe of Death show. Animal shows with birds and wolves will appeal to all members of your traveling group, and, of course, rides, fair food, and midway games will bring fun and excitement to your Florida holiday!

Trick or Treat!

The first fear of any youngster is one of not being able to trick or treat at Halloween, but we are happy to inform you it won’t be an issue during your escape to Cocoa Beach! Attend the Space Coast Halloween Fest on October 21 on Merritt Island, a festival offering face painting, balloon animals, and a safe way for costumed kiddos to beg for treats, while also expanding your opportunities for a candy haul!

The 5th Annual Space Coast Mom Life Trunk or Treat on October 27th held at 4345 W New Haven Avenue in Melbourne provides a couple of hours of safe and free trunk or treating, an event that also includes a bounce house, DJ, and food trucks filled with delicious snacks and meals for your dining pleasure. The Community Trunk or Treat held in nearby Cocoa at 4725 Fay Boulevard, also on October 27 will not only offer trunk or treating, but there will be vendors perhaps selling the treasures that will make their way under your friends’ Christmas trees!

Our children aren’t the only ones who like to celebrate the holiday and for those adults traveling without their tiniest chaperones, participating in a Halloween Bar Crawl makes memories that you will never forget! Taking place on Saturday, October 14 starting at 5 PM, this fun event serves as the official kickoff for the spookiest season, featuring costume contests, 5 drinks (1 at each stop!), and prizes that include gift certificates to area bars and restaurants are included in the ticket prizes that cost $18 in advance or $25 on the day of the event.

On October 21, the 9th Annual Halloween Pub Crawl of Cocoa Village sponsored by the Cocoa Elk’s Lodge in Cocoa, provides 6 drinks for the cost of tickets which are $20 in advance, and $30 on the day of the event.
