There is plenty of fun to be found when you plan for an adventure getaway to the beautiful shores of Cocoa Beach. As you would expect, there are plenty of exciting attractions found right here in the area. One thing that must be experienced during any visit in Cocoa Beach is to hit the local beaches for some fun under the sun. The beaches around here are second to none and are guaranteed to show you a great time. It may sound odd to name the best beaches in a city that is itself named after a beach, but the entire area of Cocoa Beach is approximately 72 miles in length; that entire stretch features plenty of beautiful beaches separate from one another. Canaveral National Seashore

One of the best beaches that is part of Cocoa Beach is the stretch of secluded sand that makes up the Canaveral National Seashore. This undeveloped area is free of vendors and stores, giving you some peace and quiet. The Canaveral National Seashore is technically found on a barrier island but features dunes, salt marshes, and plenty of sandy beach. There is plenty of parking onsite with a boardwalk that lets you look out over the dunes.

Cherie Down Park

If you are looking for the best beaches in Cocoa Beach located in a suburban neighborhood setting, look no further than Cherie Down Park in Cocoa Beach. This park features seven acres of space and is the perfect spot for a picnic. A giant 200-foot boardwalk jets out over the dunes so you can look out onto the water. You will find plenty of families here enjoying activities such as beach volleyball, fishing along the surf, or building a sandcastle. There is plenty of sea grass nearby jutting out of the water, making for a fun game of hide and seek for the kiddos!

Cocoa Beach Pier

You might as well stop by the namesake beach when you are staying in Cocoa Beach. A historical landmark can be found at Cocoa Beach Pier, the Space Coast, a stretch of beaches that is famous for incredible surfing conditions. Seriously, you will find plenty of surfers out in the water taking on the waves. Sit back and watch the pros put in work or head out onto the water and join them yourself. There is plenty of space on the beach where you can lay out and soak up that Florida sun for a good tan. You can expect to find several different shops and restaurants at the Pier as well.

Sidney Fischer Park

Another family friendly beach spot here in Cocoa Beach can be found just along Sidney Fischer Park. This oceanfront park features a total of 10 acres of space and is ideal for a family outing. The name comes from Cocoa Beach’s mayor from 1956 to 1960. Sidney Fischer Park features outdoor showers, restrooms, and picnic pavilions, letting you easily spend the day here if you wanted.

Lori Wilson Park

Beach parks can be found all across Cocoa Beach, including Lori Wilson Park. This giant park has a total of 33 acres that is covered with multiple dunes, picnic areas, playground, and much more. There is plenty of local wildlife and flora that call Lori Wilson Park home, so keep an eye out and see what you can spot. The 3,155-foot boardwalk will take you down the nature hammocks and out onto the water. You will not want to miss out on this spacious park and beach!

Howard E. Futch Memorial Park

If you want to try your hand at surfing but want to stay away from the crowds at Cocoa Beach Pier, head over to Howard E. Futch Memorial Park. This beach, formerly known as Paradise Beach Park, is approximately a mile and a half long and is located just off Eau Gallie Boulevard. You will find plenty of families and groups of friends here enjoying some time with Frisbees or beach volleyball. The water is usually decorated with body surfers hitting the waves as they roll through the tides. Howard E. Futch Memorial Park features several large pavilions that can host your outdoor picnic. Take advantage of the onsite BBQ grills to make some burgers and hot dogs. Howard E. Futch Memorial Park is always quiet and has plenty of room for everyone.
